Enhancing the Uber Partner Ecosystem through Product, Partnerships & Community
Over the course of this project, I led the strategic development and execution of partner engagement initiatives for Uber Eats' bike delivery program, combining product thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and community-building expertise. From forging impactful brand partnerships to launching in-app innovations and cultivating digital communities, I delivered scalable solutions that improved partner experience, drove growth, and reinforced brand loyalty. This work reflects my strengths in strategic partnerships, UX-focused problem solving, and creating human-centered systems that deliver measurable impact.

As part of our effort to enhance the bike partner experience, we surveyed over 100 partners through in-person and phone interviews to uncover key pain points in their day-to-day journeys with Uber. These insights directly informed product enhancements, community-building efforts, and strategic partnerships, ensuring that every solution was grounded in real partner feedback and needs.

Our research revealed three core needs among bike partners: a stronger sense of community, affordable access to bicycles and parts, and a seamless way to access these benefits within the partner app. These insights became the foundation for our strategic initiatives, guiding the creation of in-app features, exclusive brand partnerships, and dedicated community platforms, all designed to support and empower our partners holistically.

To elevate the overall experience for Uber’s bike delivery partners, we implemented a targeted action plan centered on three key pillars: community building, seamless product integration, and strategic partnerships. This multi-faceted approach led to meaningful improvements in partner engagement, operational efficiency, and long-term loyalty.
Key initiatives included the launch of exclusive online communities for peer support and knowledge sharing, the integration of geo-based e-bike rental features within the partner app to streamline access, and the formation of brand partnerships to offer discounted bikes, parts, and repairs, removing key barriers to entry and success for our partners.
Forging Strategic Partnerships to Empower Bike Delivery Partners
Within just two months, we secured key partnerships with Amega, Urban Cyclist, and Zoomo to support Uber Eats’ bike delivery network. These alliances introduced exclusive benefits, such as discounted bike purchases, reduced repair costs, and access to affordable parts, removing key financial barriers for both new and existing partners. The initiative not only made bike ownership and maintenance more accessible but also strengthened partner retention and broadened our recruitment pipeline. By aligning with trusted cycling brands, we positioned Uber Eats as the go-to platform for bike-based couriers, resulting in a 250% increase in partner sign-ups and long-term loyalty.
Streamlining E-Bike Access Through In-App Innovation
To elevate the experience for our bike partners, we launched a new in-app feature that simplified and streamlined the e-bike rental process. By introducing a dedicated section within the Uber Eats partner app, we enabled geo-location-based access to nearby e-bike rentals, eliminating the need to juggle multiple platforms during shifts. This seamless integration empowered partners to quickly locate, pick up, and drop off bikes directly through the app they already use to manage their deliveries. The result was a more efficient, intuitive, and time-saving solution that boosted productivity and enhanced the overall partner experience on the road.
Building Community Through Digital Connection
To foster a stronger sense of belonging and support among our bike partners, we launched a suite of online community initiatives, most notably, exclusive Facebook groups tailored specifically for our partner network. These dedicated spaces became vibrant hubs for connection, peer support, and knowledge-sharing, allowing partners to exchange tips, share experiences, and build camaraderie beyond the road. By nurturing these virtual communities, we strengthened partner engagement and created a more connected, empowered delivery ecosystem.
